Med-Or Foundation Chairman, Marco Minniti, and the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kais Abu Dayyeh, signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation in the fields of academic and professional education and in projects aimed at developing the capacity building of Jordan
Today, Wednesday 25 January 2023, Med-Or Foundation signed a Letter of Intent with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to cooperate in various fields of academic and professional education as well as in capacity-building projects in this geographically small but crucial Near Eastern country.
The document was signed by the Chairman of Med-Or, Marco Minniti, and by the Ambassador of Jordan to Italy, Kais Abu Dayyeh, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the most significant areas in which Med-Or Foundation will be able to cooperate with Jordan there are education in advanced technological sectors such as Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, precision agriculture, medicine and health management, renewable energy and water resources, as well as initiatives for the promotion and protection of cultural heritage. In these latter two areas, there are already contacts at both local government and international cooperation levels to initiate projects that aim to make the Kingdom of Jordan a regional reference point.
The agreement crowns an already fruitful collaboration between Med-Or and Jordan that has seen the Foundation provide funding for 80 online Italian language courses, through the ICoN (Italian Culture on the Net) consortium and the Embassy, for male and female students at Jordan University in Amman, with the aim of obtaining the Italian language certification - with the collaboration of the Italian Embassy - required for access to university courses in Italy. Furthermore, the Foundation awarded a scholarship to a Jordanian researcher designated by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship for the Luiss School of Government’s Executive Course on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity in a Global Digital Age, held last October. Finally, through the memorandum recently signed between Med-Or and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the Foundation will offer Jordanian graduates scholarships for research and training activities at INGV.
