Med-Or Foundation: the Winter School in Cyber Security comes to an end.
The initiative was held in collaboration with the Leonardo Cyber Security Training Centre in Genoa and was attended by students from Jordan, the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan and Ukraine.
In November and December 2024 was held the Med-Or Foundation’s Winter School in Cyber Security, organized in collaboration with the Leonardo Cyber Security Training Centre in Genoa and thanks to the cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Amman, the Italian Consulate General in Erbil, and the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Odessa.
The initiative, the first of its kind made possible thanks to the fruitful collaboration between Med-Or and Leonardo’s Cyber Division, was developed through an intensive training course conducted in hybrid mode with the participation of selected students from Jordan, the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan and Ukraine. The programme included, in addition to the assessment of the participants’ previous skills, an online training module, an introduction to cyber security and to the best practices, followed by an on-site module in Genoa at the Leonardo Cyber Security Centre, dedicated to consolidating basic skills, network and system security.
During classes in Genoa, the participants were also able to take part in a final cyber exercise. The aim of the two-week course was to provide the young participants, who came from different professional and academic backgrounds, with an in-depth knowledge of the main topics related to cyber security, thus supporting the development of essential skills in an increasingly important and sensitive sector in today's security and economic landscape.
