Presented in Rome the project Digital Geopolitics promoted by Med-Or, Luiss and Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation

The closing event of the “Digital Geopolitics” project was held in Rome on May 29 at Luiss University

On 29 May, the final event of the project “Digital Geopolitics”developed by Med-Or Foundation in collaboration with the Center for International and Strategic Studies (CISS) of Luiss Guido Carli took place in Rome at the LUISS Campus, in the framework of the “Geopolitics and Technology. New paradigms of development: challenges, security and democracy” call for proposals, published by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation.

The project involved 17 researchers in the drafting of eleven different papers, with the aim of deepening their understanding of the complex relationship between geopolitics and the digital revolution, especially on certain issues of specific relevance in the current political and international strategic context.

The final conference of the project was an opportunity to present the results and the main takeaways of the work. After a first session dedicated to the presentation of the authors’ research results, the event continued in the afternoon with the round table “Italy and the Challenge of Digital Geopolitics”, which was closed by the speech of Alfredo Mantovano, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Delegate Authority for the Security of the Republic.

The roundtable featured the participation of Bruno Frattasi, Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN); Giovanni Gagliano, Head of the VI Department of IT, Cyber and Telecommunications of the Defense Staff; Enrico Bagnasco, CEO TI Sparkle; and Lorenzo Mariani, Co-General Manager of Leonardo.

A project summary was distributed during the conference, which can be downloaded at this LINK.
