‘‘Italy, Europe, NATO, and the future of the Mediterranean’’. An event by Med-Or Foundation

On March 13, a high-profile Round Table titled “Italy, Europe, NATO and the future of the Mediterranean” was held at the Center for High Defense Studies, sponsored by Med-Or and CASD.

On Wednesday March 13, 2024, Med-Or Foundation and the Center for High Defense Studies (CASD), hosted a conference entitled “Italy, Europe, NATO and the future of the Mediterranean,” dedicated to the future of security in the Mediterranean, with particular attention to Italy’s role in the European and Atlantic contexts, the main threats affecting NATO’s Southern Flank, and the prospects for multilateral cooperation in the region.

The event, held in Rome at the CASD headquarters, was opened by the introductory remarks of Giacinto Ottaviani, CASD Chairman, and featured speeches by Marco Minniti, Chairman of Med-Or Foundation; Marco Peronaci, Permanent Representative of Italy to NATO; Jack Markell, Ambassador of the United States to Italy; and Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chief of the Defense Staff. The Round Table was concluded by a speech from the Italian Defense Minister, Guido Crosetto.

The event was moderated by Monica Maggioni, Editorial Director for News Offering at Rai.
