Med-Or and Somalia: the training project with the University of Tuscia continues

Med-Or Foundation, for the second consecutive year, promotes six scholarships for Somali students at the University of Tuscia

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Med-Or Foundation with the Republic of Somalia in December 2021, which provided for the promotion of the Italian language in Somalia and support for higher education, for the second consecutive year Med-Or is funding the provision of six scholarships for Somali students at the University of Tuscia, at the Viterbo and Civitavecchia campuses.

The scholarships awarded are intended for students selected among the most deserving from the Somali university and will allow them to pursue master’s degree programs in the academic year 2023/2025, in the fields of Circular Economy, Marine Biology and Ecology, Plant Biotechnology for Food and Global Health, Security and Human Rights, Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Mechanical Engineering.

Med-Or, together with the University of Tuscia, thereby renews cooperation with Somalia in the field of education and training, after six other scholarships had already been funded last year. The initiative falls within the Foundation’s broad framework of purposes and objectives, always committed to the promotion of cooperation, dialogue and research and the development of projects and activities for the Broader Mediterranean countries. The collaboration with Somalia, a strategic country in the geopolitical framework and in the balances of East Africa, has entered its second year and is continuing, with excellent prospects for development in other areas of vocational training.
