Mediterranean Moonlight. The fashion show promoted by Med-Or Foundation

The show, organized by the Italian-Lebanese Cultural Institute and promoted by Med-Or, with the patronage of the Lebanese Embassy, was held in Rome at the MAXXI.

On Wednesday, July 13th, the eighth edition of the International Couture fashion show “Mediterranean Moonlight”, organized by the Italian-Lebanese Cultural Institute, took place in Rome at the MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts, as part of the Altaroma runway calendar, promoted by Med-Or Foundation with the patronage of the Lebanese Embassy in Italy. The catwalk showcased the collections “The four elements – a material imagination” and “Monocrom”, respectively designed by Flavia Valentini and A’Biddikkia – a Giovanna Mandarano brand –, matched with Elle Bags by Lucrezia Battaglia from the “Levitas” collection. Other creations presented on the catwalk included Barbara Piekut – Mo.Ya Fashion brand – with her “Libertà” collection; Flavio Filippi, whose “Hortense” collection was matched with Marina Corazziari’s “Mediterranean Jewels”; Missaki Couture – a brand by Lebanese fashion designer Missaki Karassia – with “Althea”, as well as the Jordanian stylist Laith Maalouf with “Aquatic Legends”. Footwear showcased on the catwalk belonged to the “Temptation” collection by Fleur d’Oranger.

“Culture, language, arts are extraordinary means of communication, and they can bridge historical misunderstandings. We have need of such unity in the Mediterranean – Med-Or Chairman Marco Minniti stated. – Unity out of difference, for we sometimes have different histories, cultures, religions, institutions, but we are part of the same shared history. That is why even the more modern and innovative kinds of art – high fashion, for example – can become an extraordinary means of dialogue.”
